Through this past year, we have been humbled and privileged to help hundreds of youths ages 10 to 18 restore their smiles. Founded by Dr. Rodney Raanan and his brother, Dr. Justin Raanan, The Giving a Smile Foundation aims to provide quality dental services for families in need.

Our mission is to help all Los Angeles children and young adults gain access to preventative dental care to keep their teeth and gums healthy. With an emphasis on patient-centered care and a passion for building connections in the local community, we help families improve the oral health of children so they don’t face dental health issues in later adolescence or adulthood.

We strongly believe that great dental health has the ability to change lives.

Educating children on best practices for brushing and flossing, providing them with quick and easy access to qualified dentists for any oral health issues, all can go a long way to ensure every child can achieve their most confident and beautiful smile.

A healthy smile is linked to a healthy body and a healthy mind. With proper dental care, local children and youths have just one more tool to help them live healthy, successful lives with no out-of-pocket costs.

How Can We Help?

Throughout Los Angeles, hundreds of our youth are without access to basic dental services or routine dental checkups. With more than a quarter of children in Los Angeles living below the poverty line, affordable dental health care is extremely limited.

This means a higher risk of developing oral health problems that can disrupt school attendance and compromise our children’s future. When dental issues go untreated, it can increase a child’s risk of lung disease, diabetes, certain cancers, and bacterial pneumonia. The truth is, painful teeth and gums, cavities, gum disease, and inflammation can all be easily prevented and treated. The best tools for addressing these oral health problems are greater dental health awareness and access to quality dental care, no matter a child’s living situation. Our role as Los Angeles dentists is to partner with the community in a humble effort to improve the oral health and well-being of the city’s most precious asset: our children.

Free Dental Education
A healthy smile starts with an awareness of good oral hygiene. Patient education is at the heart of what we do. The Giving A Smile Foundation provides easy and quick access to information on best dental health practices. Working together with the community, our dentists strive to touch lives by educating children with simple, easy tips for daily brushing and flossing. This is the foundation for a lifetime of good oral health.

Complimentary Dental Health Services
We provide children ages 10-18 with professional, free dental care so they can maintain a bright smile and prevent oral health problems such as cavities, gum disease, tooth decay, and more. Early treatment and prevention can avoid pain and expensive emergency dental procedures that can lead to permanent tooth loss. We are committed to helping this underserved group receive the best dental care, regardless of income, as oral health is an important part of a healthy lifestyle.
